A Renewed Place with a Story
The figure known as Pytlorka, whose real name was Szolona, was a significant and renowned alcohol smuggler in the Jablunkov and Cieszyn Silesia region. This daring woman became a legend due to her smuggling activities during the interwar period and World War II. Cieszyn Silesia and the Jablunkov area, known for their rugged terrain and strategic border location, provided ideal conditions for smuggling. Pytlorka skillfully took advantage of these geographical benefits to successfully transport alcohol across the borders.
However, her story was not without risks. During the German occupation, she was eventually arrested and deported to a prison in Warsaw. Despite the dangers and hardships, Pytlorka remains a symbol of courage and determination in difficult times, and her story continues to resonate with people in this region.
